WORM TAPES

WORM tapes can only be written to once and do not support LTFS. This kind of tape is for businesses that need to ensure their data has not been tampered with. If this feature is not required, we recommend a normal tape as they can be reused and provide more Terabytes per dollar.

LTO 6 tapes were designed during a change in material from Metal Particles (MP) to Barium Ferrite (BaFe). Quantum tapes are BaFe tapes. Recent data suggests that MP tapes should not be used in LTO 7 drives.

Tape cartridge part numbers vary widely for a single tape model. We list all documented part numbers and their meaning below. We like to keep things easy, so we sell all of these under one product; The one you are currently viewing.
