The MagStor SAS-HL8-AIR is an LTO-8 SAS desktop tape drive in the AIR enclosure for removable backup and archive storage. Its SFF-8644 SAS connection supports direct attachment to a compatible SAS host adapter, or connection to the SFF-8644 expansion port on a compatible MagStor Thunderbolt / USB4 AIR drive using an SFF-8644-to-SFF-8644 cable. The SAS AIR drive operates as a separate tape device through the shared host connection. Requires an appropriate SAS host adapter for direct SAS connection, compatible software and media; the SAS model does not provide a direct Thunderbolt or USB4 host connection. Includes XPNTL Solo LTFS software at no additional charge.
